When Alyssa and Beau first contacted me, I remember being so floored that they were going to elope in the middle of a lake. Yes, you read that right, in the middle of a lake. They spent several hours riding in a boat around Caddo Lake, in search of the perfect place to hold their elopement. When they both saw a sand bank on an island, they knew it was the perfect spot for them. I remember hearing Beau recollect to Alyssa that all that mattered on their wedding day was that they were together, that traditions, big dresses and churches didn’t matter at all. They were going to go on this adventure together.
The day was a relaxed day, with Alyssa gathering flowers in the morning with her flower girls for the bouquet and boutonniere. She looked amazing in her Free People dress. The day was filled with anticipation as Beau and waited to see each other before they eloped in Caddo Lake.
Once you go riding backwards in a small boat, speeding your way to their ceremony, trying your damndest to keep balance and not to fall off, there’s a certain euphoric excitement I have never ever felt in my life. I had no idea that swamp land like this even existed in Texas. I am so grateful to experience this wonderful adventure with Alyssa and Beau with their family. Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy their story as much as I have had documenting it.
