Jennifer + Ryan | Bohemian-esque Wedding in Canada

Jennifer and Ryan's lives have been orbiting each other, the unifying force being the power of music. In 2011, they were at the same concert, only two seats away. Several years later, they were in the same volleyball league but still did not interact. Then, in 2017, Jennifer ran into Ryan at an art show where he did the soundscape for the piece. They talked, got to know each other, and soon after went on their first date at a Huxley concert.

Blue skies and golden canola fields greeted me as I arrived at this summer wedding in Lethbridge, Alberta. Being the thoughtful people they are, they arranged for a school bus to shuttle 150 of their friends and family to the Countryside Barn, where their outdoor ceremony would take place shortly after their arrival. Under the warmth of the summer sun, they were married, officiated by a friend.

During the recessional, their guests sang "God Only Knows" as they showered Jennifer and Ryan with biodegradable confetti. Unfortunately, Jennifer's grandma couldn't attend the wedding; however, she submitted a video of herself playing the saxophone (much to everyone's delight), a hobby she picked up during the lockdown.

Their friends Greg, Ryan, and Kathryn reformed the band for a special performance to play the first dance. Right after, a Katy Perry mashup filled the air, and everyone took to the dancefloor. As the evening wore on, Ryan's mom got on the mic and serenaded everyone to Shania Twain's "You're Still the One," as everyone danced late into the evening.

tldr: Like a creamsicle ice cream had a baby with sprinkles, and Florence + the Machine showed up with a confetti bomb.
