Garrett and Lauren wanted their engagement session to capture their journey and love for Chicago. They met at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law for a bar review. Their connection was instant, while the bar review became a small group gathering for drinks. Since then, they have been inseparable, along with their schnauzer, Otto, frequenting many walks in the Ukrainian Village.
The engagement session started at the Northwestern campus, which features lush foliage and beautiful architecture, providing me with various backdrops to use as a photographer. On the way to their home, I couldn't help but get excited at the sight of Mr. Beef, the inspiration behind the TV show "The Bear." At their home, Garrett showcased the numerous tricks he had taught Otto during the pandemic. The three of them relaxed on the couch while we listened to records, creating a heartwarming moment in their daily lives.
We ended the day by taking Otto for a walk in the picturesque Ukrainian Village. The changing season, with leaves displaying a gradient of warm colors, made this already beautiful area even more enchanting. We leisurely strolled past the charming brick houses, admiring the views, enjoying the pleasant weather, and observing the dogs being walked (some of them in costumes, my heart). I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced this engagement session in Ukrainian Village, where I had the opportunity to dine at Kasama prior to it receiving a Michelin Star, and it became notoriously difficult to secure a reservation.
