Karla and Nick met while she saw him playing the steel guitar at a show. Nick wanted to learn an instrument, and he decided to pick one of the hardest instruments to learn. They both love the outdoors and Nick decided to take Karla to the magical place that is Big Bend National Park. On a hike to the hot springs there, they decided to take a detour from the path and found the ridge where they wanted to get married. Fast forward to a year later, they are saying their vows on said ridge overlooking Mexico.
They both got ready at the Chisos Mountains Lodge at Big Bend National Park. Missing Nick while she was getting ready, Karla decided to play some El Campo, a band Nick is in. “I’m going to marry that steel guitarist!” Karla exclaimed as she put the finishing touches on her dress. Her marvellous style was highlighted with a thrifted embroidered belt and vintage silver jewellery.
They chose to honor the natural grandness of the area but allowing their music to be ambient sounds. In addition, her bouquet was artificial so as to not harm the natural flora. The rest of the day worked like clockwork, watching two people get married at this Big Bend wedding, overlooking the Rio Grande. There is something so very special about west Texas.
I am so delighted to have their small, desert wedding featured over on Junebug Weddings.
