Barr Mansion is one of my favorite wedding venues in Austin. Located conveniently close to downtown Austin, yet it feels seeming far off in the hill country, this charming venue offers everything from timeless elegance to a modern space to celebrate. The historic mansion is over a century old. The reception space a mix of wood and glass – both a tasteful canvas for couples to work with.
Rebecca and Andrew are two creatives from Houston, who met in Austin, and wanted to bring their family and friends back to a place special to them to celebrate. They wanted to honor their past, in addition, to have their families visit the city they love. Rebecca meticulously put together the greenery for the day, they wanted to keep it minimal and elegant. Rebecca’s choice of two dresses, one ceremony and cocktail reflected that. The first sophisticated strapless with flowy skirt that moved with the breeze and a delicately detailed belt. The reception and off the shoulders cream dress that allowed for all the dancing. The mood was set by an outdoor cocktail reception following the sunset ceremony, with most of the festivities occurring outdoors under strung cafe lights. Shortly thereafter they moved into reception space.
Andrew, being a music buff, crafted a setlist that carried the party late into the night. This Barr Mansion wedding was wild.
